The crochet bug has died down. I have done quite a few potholders and made a few doll pillows. I want to complete one more potholder (stalled out) and then I will be over this for a while. It did help minimize the cotton yarn basket a bit, which is good.
I sewed for the first time in something like six years, making Shuichi his orange with yellow flowers jumper. I had to read about how to do EVERYTHING all over again. The Bernina was fighting me a bit, especially the rollball dealie used to make selections. I don't know if it needs some lubrication or a replacement ball, but I know I will not be able to get it serviced since the machine was discontinued a year or so after I purchased it.
Then I had to make the brown Mary Janes out of felt, cardboard and glue. I decided to use small brass pins for the closures to make like easier on me. Luckily I had a doll dressmakers book I got when I was making some American Girl clothes for my mother's Molly (never made any clothes for my five) and it had shoe patterns I was able to adapt to a degree. The shoes aren't perfect but they are for a cosplay, not for regular streetwear.
I actually have been writing bits and pieces. I may even get a story completed before the end of the year, (if I am VERY lucky) and if I can wrestle one section into submission. Having good writers appearing on gurabite again and betaing Aja's latest has also helped get the fire going again.
No artwork has happened, and I need to get my ass back into gear if I am going to teach about drawing anime art in the Spring.
