I wanted to write last night but when I got to bed I fell asleep.
No Japanese today, I am taking a break, taking the laptop to the office and I will get in a half-hour of writing during lunch. Shiyuuichi has been a bit insistent for some reason. Eiri is laughing at him, saying I love him more. The smoke coming out of S's ears is cute.

Another 500 words today. Have zero clue where this is coming from...
Did you notice the new wallpaper here?

It started off so innocently...
I wanted to get my writing notebooks out of the front pocket of my purse because the weight was causing my purse to dump stuff. My pink phone had landed on the floor of Walmart at one point.
So I took them to the bedroom where I was working on my Japanese. I wanted to glance through them to see what I had and was considering getting some of the bits and pieces into the laptop. Flipping through the thicker of the two books I came across a tidbit I had written down when I had walked in and found rat hogging the bed one night. I saw Eiri doing the same thing so I wrote down the idea and a few details, about a page and half, and left it at that.
Well, before I knew it I had a pen in hand and had scribbled another page and a half more. I figured I might as well get into the laptop, since it was on already, having watched some dubbed GW earlier.
I get to typing and find myself adding bits and pieces here and there. I also do not get everything logged and find I have typed 1500 words...
And once again the story veered off in a direction I did not expect. It was only supposed to be about Eiri hogging the bed and Shiyuuichi wrestling his pillow and some covers from him. It is turning into a reflective piece on Shiyuu's side about how and why they got the large bed and why Eiri now drools.
Go fig...
Yes, I did have all my Japanese study stuff around me at the time. In fact all the materials filled the entire area where rat sleeps. Did new flashcards today, adding the z's, d's, b's and p's to the mix. Gonna have to use a different colour to get the blends in - kya, etc. because I ran out of the coloured index cards I was using for the Katakana.

Decided to monkey around with the look of this a bit. Made a new background for it, too.

Gathered some of my Gravi oekaki together to make this animated gif. Made the decision I had to have an equal amount of Eiri and Shiyuuichi images alone along with them together in the animation. Had to compromise on the quality of this gif to get it down to the "less-than-40k" requirements for LJ.

Another creative nibble this morning. Made a new icon from another of my oekaki.

Decided it was time to do a new background for the original blog so I whipped this out in about five minutes. Nothing spectacular, just something different.

When I was heavily into photography I did a long series in various old cemeteries around Texas. Since more than 99% of the time I was wandering about alone in these places I had to use myself if I needed a model. *sigh* That's me, when I still had a dancer's body....
Much, much later, when I decided to go back to school after all those years and learn multimedia I took a basic Photoshop class. I needed to start using my own work so I dug out a few of those images - the ones I could lay my hands on immediately - and began manipulating them. This is one of the results of those CG exercises. It was interesting; when the class required us to enter the photography contest at school I entered three pieces and none of them got in the show. Kinda galled me since my degree concentration had been video and photography. However, the head of the photography dept. snagged this one and another of the same series and kept them posted in the photography case all semester, and I wasn't even a student in that area! He even commented on how he was surprised neither had gotten into the show. A bit of redemption on that one.
The show was a farce, of course. A photo of car hood covered in bird poop was chosen, along with a lot of other crap.
Luckily the multimedia students are no longer required to enter the contest and only one of the advanced PS classes is offered concurrently anymore. Now we have instructors who focus on the design aspects the multimedia dept needs students to know and not just how to adjust a photograph.

This is very old. Decided to dig through some of my old classwork and post it for the hell of it. This was a self-portrait piece. A lot of the subtle details are lost because of the size of this image.

Wrote almost 100 words this evening without even trying - just messing around with 'that fic', adding a word here, putting a better descriptive sentence there.
Monkeyed with A.E.M.'s blogger style sheet and sent the code off to her.
Found inspiration this morning for a new piece of fic. I think I am going to have to do a fic called, "snippets", which would be all the bits and pieces of Eiri and Shiyuuichi that come from my head but have as yet developed into true fics.

Well, I made decision about the interface and I think this will work a lot better. Instead of having the specific anime series in the pop-up menu, which means I would have to change every single one of the pages of a very large website and reload them if I wanted to add a series, I decided to literally throw away the onMouseOver and onMouseOut behaviors for that button's pop-up and let a basic html page serve as the main navigation page for the specific anime catagory. That way I can add as I please, with ease.
So DNAngel and Saiyuki have been added...
DNAngel is there because I have done one oekaki of Dark. I know I will soon be adding Saiyuki oekaki, when I get brave enough to attempt that face shape and style.
And it is very easy to get rid of the behaviors on each page already set up. Just click on the button, go to the Behaviors menu, select two the pop-up listings and click the minus button. Bai Bai!
Now, time for some aspirin to dull the pain down yonder and off to bed.

Got a few tidbits of writing done today but nothing much to talk about.
Realized I have at least three semi-story ideas in the 'other' notebook needing to be moved over to the laptop. Ain't gonna happen in the near future though. Still drilling Katakana when I have a tad bit of energy.
Finally got back out to the oekaki board and did one. I think the last one I did was over a month ago.
This illness has knocked me for a loop and I cannot get much done, even studying.
Been getting little snippets of the new interface done, too. Just so much to update and add. Looks like I forgot to save parts when I was scrambling to get it completed for the class so the source file is incomplete. Ugh...

Yes, I am still working on the updated interface. Evan is sporking me. Wonder if Murphy has promised a blowjob...

Actually working on the updated interface while I take breaks from Katakana. It's a real pain but I am determined to get the new interface up and going.
It is time to post all the yaoi art/fic I have done and I have asked to host.

After some ...ahem... 'inspiration', it got me wondering about why we all assume Eiri is good in bed. We know he gave apt. keys out to girlfriends (why, I don't know), or maybe they would just take a key. Haven't a clue. Anyway, it has gotten both rat and I thinking about it. Perhaps I will pursue the idea later on, or add it to the fic that would not die or do an independent fic about it.
But the Japanese class comes first and foremost.

How interesting.
I started sketching out a new Gravi pic, didn't like how small it was, moved to another page and started another...
Evan must have come around after I spent so much time getting my books together to show Aaron and Chris from Squirrelworks at AnimeFEST! this past weekend. Wish I had the colour printer set up so I could have gotten the cg stuff to look better. Definitely need to scan everything in at higher DPI initially so they print out nicer.
Was really nervous about showing my stuff so first I walked around the fest and when I heard the words, "Cool! Gravitation!" from one of the tables (I was wearing a Gravi shirt) I would stop, pull out the portfolio and present it to the girl sitting there. Got lots of oohs and ahs and one asking me where I got the artwork. When I said it was mine she almost face faulted. This helped me get my nerve up. Can someone feel both confident yet nervous at the same time?
Of course, rat was already at the table talking to the guys so he gets me to hand over the portfolios. They were nice about looking and seemed to like seeing all the various styles I was trying with the DBZ stuff. They especially commented on the hair of Turles on the Restraints and Liberations frontispiece and the Radittsu and Jeice illustration from Alliance Chronicles. Cool, huh?
Chris asked for my website and told me to keep in touch. That's very generous of them. But then again, they are Texans and that's how we are.
I REALLY need to get the new interface up and filled.....
