Yep, it's true. "Kokigami" won Best Lemon at ob-session.net. I find that amusing, since the fic does not have any actual sex in it, just graphic foreplay.

I had thought it would have done better in the Humour category.

Couldn't have done it without the beta-reading done by Joules, Talon, Senoritafish, Lutra and rat. THANK YOU ALL!!!

Ugh, put the wrong date on the coloured version of "First Line"... Not September, finished in November... Have changed the date and sent another copy out to the usual suspects.

First Line in black and whiteThis drawing was inspired by one of first Gravi fanfics I ever read and it is still one my all-time favorites, "First Line" by eidolon tree. I have gotten permission to host the fic from eidolon tree, if I could ever get the updated site completed, blast it all. You can read the story at contrary-perfection.net.

I don't know why these drawings I did in May 2003 have been left hanging in the sketchbooks. I guess writing must have taken me over during that time and I just did not get around to scanning/CGing/posting these pics until now.

First Line in colourYeah, I actually attempted to do some colour work after all this time. Haven't done any in MONTHS!

The usual suspects can expect copies either late today or sometime tomorrow evening after class. I am now wasted.

Gotta remember to send copies to eidolon tree as well. I hope she will like them.

Covert SqueezeHere's the latest. Nothing too exciting. I enjoyed taking bits and pieces of my photos to put the bg together.

I drew this back in May, by the way.

Eiri's head is a bit large, or his shoulders are a little narrow but I am not concerned about it. It's done.

FYI: the back cover of the book says, "50 Ways to Insure Your Receptacle Remains Receptive".

Sure, it's slightly twisted - would you expect anything less from me?

Have one of the pics pretty much completed. Had to find a bunch of tropical photos out of the pics I took in Hawaii and California to get the bg the way I liked it. Still have a few more adjustments to do and then it will be ready to post and send to the usual suspects. This is another in the a/u "Tropical Trip" series. *snickers* Seems the boys are stuck on the island indefinitely for now since the Lemon Tree storyline has gone on hiatus. I suspect they will find things to do..... *thinks hentai thoughts*

I just discovered two finished drawings in my small sketchbook, finished in May, I have not even scanned yet. Oops... Hope to get them 'logged' soon. One is inspired by eidolon tree's lovely lovely fic "First Line". You can read it at Contrary Perfection.

So far I have done 800 words on a story I did not even know was wanting attention. Tentative title is Bookstore Break and it originally was planned to be a PWP, but with some plot to build up to the encounter, of course. Now I am debating on whether or not I need to get graphic. Figure the muse will let me know which way to take the story.

Eiri animed gif had to have something with sex now, didn't I? Made a few more icons for the LJ. Here are two of the animated ones.

Got a shell together for this year's Xmas card last weekend. I have another idea percolating as well but I do not if I will be able to draw it since I have not drawn some of the charas before. We shall see...

Haven't done any art or writing this week.

welcome home...Amazing Kiss Contest

I am shocked in both a good and bad way.

Good way: I have actually won a fanart contest. That's a first and probably a last.

Bad way: Joules' gorgeous fanart for the contest did not even get a nod. It was so much better than the second place winner in quality and emotion. And she even used the lyrics to the song! Maybe they wanted 'suck-face' images. Nope, I just cannot see it... It just does not make sense to me. Sure, the third piece of art is cute... but it's cute. I thought the point was to produce an emotional drawing. Sorry, I just don't see it. Joules deserved a ranking in the stats!

Obsession Fic Contest

The site finally updated with the titilation the winners of the fanfic contest would be contacted this week and next Sunday the doujinshi contest would begin. Watch me hold my breath...

Bet "Kokigami" had no chance whatsoever.

Writing

I opened up Word, put a few words to the 'fic that will not end' and moved over to the Greek mythology fic. Didn't think I was doing too much, even though sections I had only a note or two initially filled in quickly and nicely. When I talleyed up the total words written it came out to be about 1000. Whoa, where the hell did THAT come from? I think Joules and Talon's recent slices to me woke Grunt up.

Actually, I think the muses are seeing my brain is resisting Japanese now and are taking advantage of the situation.

Both Evan and Grunt are stomping around here, demanding my attention. Yes, as flitty as Evan CAN be he really is a stomper when he wants to be.

Artwork

Have a another piece started 9/1/03 being worked up, plus a potential Xmas card to be done in ink. Few more bits and pieces are in the books, plus everything that has been pending for months. Wish I could get the inspiration to get the pending stuff completed. I just look at it and nothing hits me.

It is really strange.

I think Evan hoodwinked someone or something and made me sick. Seems all I had energy to do for the minutes I was awake during the recent illness was sketch. I can sketch while my head is tilted the right way to allow head drainage, lying down, propped up on a pile of pillows.

So this is the medium-sized thumbnail of the finished E & S portrait, sort of a serious one. I have tentatively called it Serious Contemplation. Two head shots, separate, on the same page, but hopefully the image will imply they are looking at each other. It's what happens when drawing one head first, seeing room is available for the other on the page and the muse makes the demand to just continue drawing.

Was working on trying to get Shiyuuichi's eye (once again) down. Damn it, that boy gives me fits every single time. Those blasted cow eyes are a pain in the ass to draw consistently, no matter what angle I attempt. Looked at a doujin in the bathroom for an eye shape then walked back to the bedroom, laid down and drew it. Been fighting S's eye on another pic for a few months now. Ugh.

I do not seem to have the same problem with Eiri's eyes. Well, for this pic I did have to reference the manga because of the particular angle, but everything else I did straight from memory and it was all in place before I put in the eyes. I must admit I impressed myself drawing the three-quarter view. Looks like I might be able to tackle some Saiyuki boys in the future.

Debating if I should actually separate them if I use them to illustrate a story.

The usual suspects can expect a large copy in the mail sometime this weekend.

New pencil drawing is pending scanning and touch-up.
