Only got a little writing done today, early this morning. Futzed around with the 'hospital' fic.
After getting back from lunch at 12:45pm, I decided to take a nap and ended up waking up when rat called at 4pm. Oops...
Guess I needed it.
Plan on more writing tomorrow.

Worked quite a bit on the timeline Wednesday because a specific age is mentioned in the 'snow' fic. Had to make everyone one year older and move the beginning date of everything to 1997. Still monkeying with it.
Got 518 words done on the 'snow' fic. That's pretty good for me.
We finally got the new digital camera! It's a Nikon P2 and it has a YiFi connection! Will be able to take resource photos at any time now! Now I need to find some time after this vacation to play with it.
Took a break to rest my hands - cleaned up and threw away some stuff - working toward a damned Asian Balljointed doll. (evil danglemate talonsage!) I have already purchased the two wigs for Eiri and Shuichi.
Eiri's hair: http://www.dollmore.net/shop/step1.php?number=1455
Shu's hair: http://eluts.com/frontstore/Item/item_zoom.asp?item_num=1617&catalog_num=8&mart_id=lutsdoll&level=yes&mother_catalog_num=127
It will be nice to shoot photos of them to use as drawing ideas for my figure studies and use some of the photos as illustrations for stories, too. I may even break down and get them without makeup so I can do it myself... but I probably won't.
I will yap more about the doll hunt, etc. on my main blog later on. It has been a strange ride.
Thursday morning I will write on whatever Grunt tells me to mess with, then I meet with dscally and bluepita for lunch. We will talk about anime and probably the book dscally is writing. She wants include both pita and I's anime/literature/manga research papers. I have to slice hunks out of mine because of length, though - it's 30 pages...
Then it's back to writing until rat comes home. Then I write some more on Friday, Saturday and Sunday! rat has to understand the gaming and time-shifted stuff is going to have to wait until Monday.

Damnit...
I finally scrounged around and found my Gravi timeline on Last Gasp and sent it to otaku. There, in big glaring black and white, I discovered the place I put "Kokigami" just will not work now. Eiri being on the bottom the first time does not happen until "the fic that will not end". It's one of the big sections in many big sections of that damnable epic fic.
Eiri's first time had not been written when I first started "tftwne" - it just showed up in the sequence of the story, much, much later. I would pull it and make a one-shot, but it really does work as the final 'resolution' of a somewhat complicated piece. I mean, the first half is written without the reader knowing who is talking! A LOT of time has been spent on this already so I really don't want to start yanking major sections out.
So, do I pull "Kokigami" out of the timeline? Eiri is grumpier there and Shu is still calling him Yuki. I think I am going to chew on this for a while and not sweat it. I may be able to slip it right after "tftwne" because old habits do die hard for both men.
Right now, I would like to get more things completed. I am GREATLY anticipating next week's few days of vacation. Now watch, I plan for working on a few shorter pieces and Grunt will have me hitting the multi-chaptered monsters instead. I wonder if I can convince him to consider a semi-schedule for the one-shots I would really like to complete. Ha-fucking-ha...
The oneshots I want to pursue next week:

Addendum to prior post:
~I will not contact Jchan and 'defend' my story. I see it as petty and pointless.
~I will not read any of Jchan's work and leave a review in the same vein as what Jchan left for my story.
~I will not contact Jchan in any way - I am going to let this remain 'as is' and go on.
There is a remote chance this has something to do with a review I recently left for someone who had posted three stories in a row. I still need to get back with that person and let her know she is still being inconsiderate (she doesn't think she is). I will probably post the fun and games 'elsewhere' if I feel inclined to do so.

Just discovered a new and funny review over at gurabite for "Red Day, White Day".
Jchan pretty much ripped it to shreds over what I consider silly things, especially since this is over a stupid little drabble I already know is not one of my stronger pieces. It really ISN'T up to my own personal standard - partly because of the drabble constraints - but most people have found the fluff mildly entertaining. Here are some of the nitpick examples:
There's more, but I will leave it to you to read it, but only if you want to.
Am I amused by this nitpicking? Of course I am!
Do I care? Of course not! I am feeling more like 'whatever' about this, actually.
Am I angry or offended? Of course not - there is no reason to be offended or angry about this!
Will I delete the review? No way! I have always left negative reviews in place.
Will I care if Jchan never reads any more of my work? Of course not! Jchan has a right to that opinion and DID find some missing quotation marks. Too bad Jchan will not read any of my stronger pieces but that's Jchan's loss, not mine.
This DOES alert me to the fact I may want to re-label some pieces as one-shot drabbles, however.
AND! I made a new lj icon for this entry!

- Bad Luck is not a pop band so it is not a JPop band
- an over-used phrase implying gaping like a goldfish
- using "Mr." instead of "-san" and a 'lecture' about what's proper
- Eiri would ignore his own gifts so this is unbelievable
- Shuichi's name for his lover is "Yuki", not "Eiri"
There's more, but I will leave it to you to read it, but only if you want to.

I am finally taking a few days off next week to write. Next week is Spring Break so we are already off on Friday. I am taking Wednesday and Thursday so I will have a nice block of time to write. I haven't had any kind of creative vacation since last June so I am due this.
Naturally, it is the month of March, my usual month to start some drawings, but Evan hasn't been lurking around to pick at me. The oekaki muse and the web muse have been hanging around, however, so there's a chance my artistic 'need' is being provided by them.
I have been having fun making icons again and I have even received a couple of 'creative' awards at gravi awards the past few weeks. Anyone interested in my public lj where I put my few winning icons can see them at onna icons.
It looks like I will never get a win banner for one of my Fruits Basket icons so I going to take the suggestion from one of the other icon contest communities and make my own for it.

I finally got story notes out of my brain and into a txt doc. I am hoping I can do a series of chapters with these notes, another story that is already shaping up quickly (for some reason) and perhaps another one that is in note stage in one of my notebooks that may work with the 'series'. I would like to figure out how to get a series of one-shots as chapters instead of one stand-alone at a time. Would this be considered another kind of writer's exercise?
Haven't really gotten much writing done except for maybe 100 words here and there on various projects. I did get some notes into one fic, which made me feel accomplished. Now I need to get the notes into real sentences and shuffle them about within the document. Sometimes I just dump a wad of writing into the middle of a fic, just to stick it there so I don't have to keep the thoughts in my head. I use a lot of text colours for these data dumps.
I think I may have one story close to complete, though I feel it is needing a little 'umphf' in it before calling the first draft ready for beta release. This would be the first one of the series mentioned about, so I may wait and get two more pieces together before sending it to beta.
I have been actively keeping certain themes consistent throughout the pieces I am working on. I want to tie my universe together, even with the one-shots, so a full and satisfying world is apparent. I may not have started out with this in mind but now I really want to have continuity. I want something that may happen in the fic that will not end (which is a work dealing with the past) to show up elsewhere.
It does not help matters I am falling asleep at 9pm at night and pretty much remaining passed out during a time I would usually be productive. And I cannot get writing done in the mornings now because I am needing to get caught up with all the folks who posted after the geezer went to bed, which is usually a lot of folks.
